Apparently Reuben didn’t quite grasp the Bible’s lessons about humility.
I’ve gotta find some way be involved with this. #sfcbf (Taken with instagram)

Emily Heller is a comedian and writer who likes you very much. You can see her on the third season of John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show on Comedy Central. In 2011, She was named one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch and won Rooftop Comedy’s Silver Nail Award for up-and-coming stand ups. In San Francisco, she was named one of the “7 Funniest People in Town” by 7x7 Magazine. Praised/insulted in that comedy scene for what her friends call her “self-deprecating feminist slob poetry,” Emily now lives in New York City and performs stand-up all over the country. She is the co-producer of the popular showcase Girl Talk at the San Francisco Punch Line. She has performed at San Francisco Sketchfest (2009-2011), the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta, and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland (2010-2012), where both the Portland Mercury and Laughspin.com identified her as a highlight.
When she lived in San Francisco, Emily co-hosted the #1 fccfreeradio.com show Slumming It, contributed regularly to Life&Style Magazine, published her own zines, and Photoshopped her head onto celebrities’ bodies. Now, she just does the Photoshop thing and produces the popular show The Afterlife at the Sidewalk Cafe.
She is a champion competitor in Iron Comic, the stand-up comedy gameshow. You can see her stand up on MavTV, Revision3, and Hulu. She is represented by the Emily Heller Extremely Talented Talent Agency of America.

Quotes
“Last year I got to see the Lance Bangs Presents comedy showcase, so I felt the need to attend again this year, and it did not disappoint. Lance included Emily Heller, who is one of my new favorite comics (I also might want to be her best friend, I don’t know, it’s probably weird for her), and she blew the audience out of the water at the large Bagdad Theater.” -Laughspin
“Here in San Francisco particularly, we’ve seen an explosion of really, really talented women, killing rooms all over the place — we just saw Emily Heller at the Punch Line, opening… with a set that pretty much slayed.” -SF Weekly
“A smart, confident set, offering perspective that was distinctly female without being, well, annoying about it.” -Portland Mercury
“We’re especially excited about Heller, whose brand of observational stand-up has been killing us all over the city lately. Uh, let’s see, how do we make her sound good to you tourists? “She’s hot!” “She’s got buzz!” “She’s among the Top Five!” And here’s how we scare you off: “She’s a feminist!”” -SF Weekly
“Heller closed the show with a satirical Jewish feminist attitude that is sure to play well in New York. She peers out at the crowd over thick-rimmed glasses, delivering her jokes with a deliberate pace that makes you feel like she’s letting you in on a highly classified secret and that you’re lucky she’s taking the time.” -Bay Stages
“The highlight of the show was a brief set by stand-up comic Emily Heller, whose sardonic storytelling has earned her a spot as a finalist in the S.F. Women’s Comedy Competition.” -The Examiner
“That’s the smartest five minutes about a mustache ride I’ve ever seen.” -W. Kamau Bell
“Heller takes the stage with an understated bravado that lets everyone involved know who’s in charge… Amidst her own self-deprecation is a genuine charm and a broad knowledge of comedy that makes Heller stand away from the pack.” -DNA
